5.3 is a quality-of-life release: the official rules now live inside the app, and scoring gets a cleaner full-screen mode.
The Rules tab now ships the official World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) rules right inside the app — no internet required. Open them instantly at the table, even in a pool hall with dead Wi-Fi. You can search the full rulebook, zoom, and page through it like any document. (Reproduced with permission of the WPA.) The tab is now labeled WPA Rules so it’s clear where they come from.
Minimal mode now goes full screen — during a game it tucks away the top and bottom bars so the score and controls fill the whole display. Tap the minimize button to toggle it; tap again to bring the bars back.
5.3 needs iPadOS 18 or later. This lets the app use the modern iPad layout throughout and drop older workarounds. If your iPad is on iPadOS 17, update it in Settings → General → Software Update to get 5.3 (nearly every iPad that runs 17 can update to 18).
Update from an iPadOS 18 device and you’re set — your players, games, and stats are untouched.
