Until now, if the app hit an error it could handle, it handled it quietly: a sync that could not be saved left a one-line note deep in Settings and nothing else. We only learned about it when someone wrote in, and even then we could not see what had happened on the iPad.
6.1.1 adds a small diagnostics channel. When the app catches a problem, it records a short technical note and sends it to our own server the next time it is convenient. The note says which step failed and what the database said; it never includes player names, email addresses, usernames or anything about your games. iPads without a Straight Pool Deluxe account send no device identifier at all.
There is nothing to set up, and no third-party analytics are involved. This is a complement to hearing from you, not a replacement: if something goes wrong, please keep writing to feedback@straightpooldeluxe.com.
The details of what a report contains are in the privacy policy.
Update, open the app, and tap Sync Now in Settings once. If a sync cannot be saved, we will now see why and get back to you with a fix.
